Introduction to Fencing is an 8 week course designed to provide new fencers with a solid foundation of knowledge and understanding upon which they can build skill in all three weapons.

If any student is going to miss a week of the intro course, either known in advance or unexpectedly, we encourage them to reach out to their instructor to schedule a makeup lesson at no additional cost.

No gear purchase is necessary for the Introduction to Fencing course- all needed gear is provided by Orion.

Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to get suited up and ready to fence on schedule.

Wear clothes that are comfortable to move in, and shoes that allow for a full range of athletic motion (i.e. sneakers/ tennis shoes). Keep in mind that you will be wearing heavy canvas gear over your clothes.

We encourage our fencers to bring a sturdy and reusable water bottle to class with them, but we provide solo cups to those who are unable to do so, or who simply forget.

Even though this course runs for two months, this particular session will be referred to on our social media and group communications as "the March Weekday Intro Course," if there are any announcements or adjustments to the schedule for any reason.
